Role Overview:
The role focuses on managing and optimizing web production environments, designing infrastructure for the software development lifecycle, and ensuring platform security, scalability, and reliability. Projects are centered around Employer Branding—such as careers websites, intranet solutions, and early careers campaigns. Key requirements include hands-on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and, ideally, exposure to Applicant Tracking System (ATS) integrations. The role involves cross-functional collaboration and emphasizes innovation, automation, and technical leadership in web development infrastructure.

Job Description:
Environment Setup & Management
- Manage Google Cloud and Kubernetes clusters
- Set up and manage development, staging, and production environments, including automated reporting workflows
- Define and document infrastructure configurations and processes to ensure consistency and maintainability
- Automate incident reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Establish standard maintenance windows for live projects and practices to mitigate external risks
Domain & SSL Management
- Oversee domain registrations, renewals, DNS configurations, and SSL certificate management
- Identify and resolve risks to domain health
Monitoring & Reliability
- Evaluate system architecture regularly and collaborate with the Product Team to improve processes
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure uptime, reliability, and performance
- Set up alerting mechanisms and proactively respond to incidents
- Partner with fellow solution architects to ensure 24-hour coverage of services
Rollouts & Deployments
- Coordinate and execute rollouts of new features or infrastructure updates
- Work closely with Development Teams to ensure smooth, low-risk deployments
- Support system rollbacks for failed releases
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Serve as the go-to technical resource for environment-related issues
- Evaluate project constraints and suggest alternatives to reduce risks
- Support developers with troubleshooting and environment-specific guidance
Security & Best Practices
- Enforce security best practices across environments and deployments
- Keep infrastructure components up to date and compliant
API and Third-Party Integration
- Manage the integration of XML and API feeds, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable data ingestion
- Collaborate with ATS providers (e.g., Workday) to integrate job feeds using pre-built middleware
- Maintain and monitor existing integrations; troubleshoot and coordinate updates with external partners
- Provide structured, optimized data endpoints and documentation for front-end developers
- Work with backend engineers to implement API gateways, middleware, and data transformation layers
- Ensure integrations comply with security standards and data privacy regulations
- Research and onboard new third-party services to enhance products and operations
Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar role
- Expertise with GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes and Docker)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Knowledge of SSL management and DNS configuration
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience using Jira, Trello, or similar product management tools
Optional/Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with AWS
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Experience with AI/ML integration (e.g., chatbots, Google Vertex AI)
- Familiarity with Payload CMS, DatoCMS, Sanity, or Contentful
