Our client is a fast-growing software development firm that builds custom digital products from scratch, including web, mobile, and data-driven platforms. They partner with clients from idea to launch, handling architecture, development, and delivery. The Python developer will focus on designing and maintaining robust backend systems and APIs. Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Build and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations with SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL
• Implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for client-server communication
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and caching strategies
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, and authorization systems
• Design and build data pipelines for AI-intensive applications and machine learning workflows
• Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to define API contracts and ensure smooth integration
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with Python
• Proficiency in FastAPI and modern asynchronous Python frameworks
• Extensive experience with SQLAlchemy ORM and raw SQL optimization
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL, including indexing, transactions, and performance tuning
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services
• Strong testing mindset (pytest, unittest, and testing best practices)
• Experience with API documentation tools (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows

Optional / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with message queues and event-driven architectures (Redis, RabbitMQ, zmq)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry)
• Background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Experience with Alembic for database migrations
• Familiarity with Redis for caching and session management
• Experience with data engineering tools and ETL pipelines
• Understanding of data modeling for AI/ML applications
