Client Overview

Our client is a fast-growing technology company building a high-performance data foundation that powers machine learning and product innovation. They specialize in processing identity, behavioral, and event data at scale, helping businesses unlock insights through clean, reliable data systems. With a small, agile, and engineering-led team, they combine startup energy with a strong focus on technical quality and impact.

Job Overview

The Data Engineer will take ownership of existing data pipelines and evolve them as the company scales. You’ll work closely with the founding engineering team to improve reliability, scalability, and data quality while contributing to the overall data architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain ELT pipelines using AWS Redshift and related services
  • Ingest and transform identity, person, and event data across multiple sources
  • Partner with external engineering teams to extend and optimize existing data systems
  • Monitor data health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable delivery across S3, Redshift, and DynamoDB
  • Collaborate with product and ML engineers to deliver accurate data for core features
  • Improve system documentation, observability, and performance
  • Contribute to evolving the data architecture as the platform grows

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python
  • Proficiency in SQL and Amazon Redshift
  • Solid understanding of AWS services including S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB
  • Proven ability to debug and maintain production pipelines independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Optional / Nice to Have

  • Experience working with marketing, identity, or behavioral event data
  • Background in startups or small, fast-moving engineering teams
  • Interest in long-term collaboration and growing into a senior contributor role
